The Story of the Seed

Blog #4

1) Some abiotic factors my plant depends on are the sun, soil, and water because the sun gives the plant energy, the soil gives the plant its nutrients, and the water makes sure the plant is hydrated and some biotic factors the plant depends on are us, bacteria, and little mammals to distribute it's seed or bees to distribute it's pollen.

2) I know that my plant is in competition with other plants because they all have the same niche which is to produce food and to do that they have to compete with each other to get there resources and be able to make food and reproduce my plant's competition are the other plants in the garden bed from period 5.

3)The winners are identified by how healthy they are and if they reproduced and the losers are the unhealthy looking ones who look like they are about to die and haven't reproduced yet. Sometimes it can be hard to identify if all the plants look healthy or if all look unhealthy.

4) They are also involved in the process of photosynthesis which means they are slowly producing sugars and products which will effect the environment and other organisms in a good way by giving them resources to use.

5) It appears to be secondary succession because there was already soil and it didn't begin by lichens and it also didn't happen on just plain rocks so i believe it is a form of secondary succession.
